Pre-Conference Workshop - Therapeutic Guidelines

Topics will be broken into themes and include:

Tropical and rare diseases

  • Fever in the returned traveller
  • Dengue
  • Adverse effects of tuberculosis drugs


Immune compromise

  • Febrile neutropenia
  • Cytomegalovirus
  • Primary prophylaxis in adults and children with immune compromise

 
Surgical prophylaxis

  • Use of topical antibiotics
  • Approach to penicillin hypersensitivity
  • Approach to MRSA prophylaxis
  • Prophylaxis for emergency exploratory laparotomy
  • Cefazolin dosing in obesity
  • Aminoglycoside dosing for surgical prophylaxis
